Will Sonsona be "Marvelous" again?

“His destiny will be known here and only God knows what will happen come Feb. 27, the BIG DAY.” - Promoter Sammy Gello-ani ended his e-mail update regarding Marvin Sonsona's arrival in Puerto Rico with this statement.
Marvin Sonsona, 19 year old from General Santos showed the world his destiny as a fighter when he dethroned Puerto Rican, Jose "Carita" Lopez on a 12-round unanimous decision where he won the WB0 Super-flyweight world title and named as the 2nd young world title champion. But, challenges comes to every boxer when he vacated his belt on scale on his 1st title defense against challenger Alenjadro Hernandez. Sport writers, fans and even ordinary person asked if he will be also like a wasted boxer later on?

Sonsona faced another chance on a championship, shifting from 115lbs. to 122lbs for the vacant WBO Junior Featherweight title against Wilfredo Vazquez Jr of Peuerto Rico. Sonsona (14W-0L-1D, 12 KO’s) and Vasquez,Jr. (17 W (KO 14) – L 0- D 1) will rumble in the Ruben Rodriguez Stadium in Bayamon on February 27 in a clash dubbed as “Making History”.

Vazquez Jr. is a tough opponent with power and good combination of punches. Although, Gello-ani, Sonsona promoter expressed that Vazquez is undefeated but he never faced a fighter like Sonsona.

Two fighters in one goal of becoming the WBO junior featherweight champion. Wilfredo Vazquez Jr. vs. Marvin Sonsona? No one knows the answer yet until the Feb. 27, 2010 boxing.
